About Super Heroes Humane Society

Super Heroes Humane Society (formerly Super Heroes In Ripped Jeans) was founded because of an incredible demand in the community for low-cost spay/neuter programs and a pet food pantry. We were officially registered as a Humane Society in New York State and recognized as a 501(c)(3) in 2018. Our volunteer group has grown immensely since then and we are so grateful. By teaming up together we are able to accomplish much more for the community. Super Heroes Humane Society’s shelter facility is located in rural Oneonta, NY. We also use a robust network of foster homes because we understand how important a home setting is for the animals’ well being. We work with individuals to prepare a plan in the event their beloved pet(s) outlives them. The demand for Super Heroes Humane Society’s services has fueled tremendous growth. In the last 3 years, we’ve taken in over 1200 animals into our care.

Board of Directors Service

Super Heroes Humane Society is currently recruiting members to serve on our board of directors. The board meets monthly, member terms are 2 years, and members are expected to be actively engaged with directing the success of the organization through responsibilities such as committee membership, participation in events, and donor cultivation. We are looking for individuals with the following skill sets:

For every animal in our program, there’s another 1, 5, or 10 waiting to come in. When you adopt or foster, you open the door to those waiting. As a foster, you’re an extension of our shelter. As an adopter, you join the Super Heroes family!
